Ray Zimmerer Memorial Golf Tournament

The 2012 tournament is being held at The Quarry.  Designed by nationally recognized golf course designer Keith Foster, The Quarry is recognized around the country for its unique setting and design. At the Quarry Golf Course in San Antonio you will be challenged and rewarded in many ways. The front nine plays in a links style format and features rolling hills, native grasses, and immaculate greens. The back nine lays out in a 100 year old quarry pit. With elevated tee boxes and shots that will fly over large expanses you will definitely love it. After a day at the Quarry Golf Course, you will certainly feel like you just played one the most unique and enjoyable rounds of golf in your life.

Register for the golf tournament as your complete your on-line convention registration.  This will be a best-ball scramble and the cost includes transfers to the course, breakfast, lunch and prizes.  If you are a golfer, you won't want to miss this outing!

Community Service Project

For the first time in AKFCF history, we are "giving back" to the host city of the convention.  Because of the large presence of our nation's military in the San Antonio area, the AKFCF's convention committee chose Lackland Air Force Base's "Hearts Apart" program, which is a support program for the families of deployed servicemen.  AKFCF will be serving a KFC lunch for the military families catered by franchisee Jim Bodenstedt, but staffed by franchisee volunteers ... that would be YOU!

If you are a franchisee attendee who would like to participate in this event, register on line as you complete your convention registration.  Space is limited and you must be in San Antonio before 9:00 am on the 1st, so you may need to come in a day earlier than usual to do this.  Keep in mind if you register for this event, you are committing yourself and taking a spot that someone else might want, so plan wisely!  The AKFCF hopes to continue this community service in future years and wants it to be a huge success!

Next Generation Luncheon

For the third year AKFCF is sponsoring a luncheon for its "Next Generation" franchisees.  Are you between the ages of 18 and 40 years old?  Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at the AKFCF?  Are you interested in owning your own restaurant someday or just getting involved in the KFC business?  Are you looking for something more, but are not sure how to start?  Or, are you looking for a place to put your talents and passions into action?

AKFCF's "Next Generation" is a group designed to be an introduction to the world of Kentucky Fried Chicken and the AKFCF.  This forum is for newcomers to the KFC business; allowing you to get to know one another and share ideas on how you plan to lead the future of the AKFCF.  Sons and daughters, as well as family and friends of franchisees are welcome to this informal group.  If you want to bring new age thinking to doing things The Hard Way, then this is the group for you.  We are a group that can adapt to the evolving business world.  We can teach each other about the opportunities that KFC and AKFCF have to offer and teach the responsibility we each have to preserve and continue the values of Colonel Sanders.

Register on line as you complete your convention registration.  You will need to be in San Antonio before 11:30 am on Wednesday to participate, so keep this in mind as you plan your travel!

Welcome Mixer - Sponsored by AKFCF GAC

In the interest of changing things up this year, the AKFCF is NOT having the opening reception in the exhibit hall.  Instead, a Texas-themed reception is being held at the hotel and EVERYONE will have the opportunity to mingle and visit with your friends.  This will enable our valued exhibitors and other partners to be able to connect with the franchisees on a more social basis, without having to watch over their booth in the exhibit hall at the same time!   Light refreshments (NOT dinner!) will be available.

The AKFCF's Government Affairs committee will be holding an auction at 6:30 pm, to raise money for their efforts on the Hill.  You also will be able to ride a bull or practice your roping skills ... we ARE in Texas, after all!!

Now, take me back to the main Convention page so I can register!
